Graduation Requirements

AIMS holds students to a higher standard than the California state minimum, ensuring all graduates are not only eligible for University of California (UC) admissions (A-G requirements) but are also prepared for the rigors of top-tier research universities.

Focusing on logic, proof, and application.

  • Core: Algebra I/II (Honors), Geometry (Honors), Pre-Calculus.
  • Advanced: AP Calculus AB/BC, Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations.
  • Specialized: Linear Algebra for Machine Learning, Statistics & Probability, Game Theory.

Department of Science

Inquiry-based labs with university-grade equipment.

  • Core: Physics First (9th), Chemistry (10th), Biology (11th).
  • Advanced: AP Physics C (Mech & E/M), AP Chemistry, AP Biology.
  • Specialized: Quantum Mechanics Concepts, Organic Chemistry, Astrophysics, Neuroscience.

Department of Computer Science & AI (The AIMS Core)

  • Year 9: CS50: Intro to Computer Science (Python focus).
  • Year 10: Data Structures & Algorithms.
  • Year 11: Machine Learning Fundamentals (Supervised/Unsupervised learning, Neural Networks).
  • Year 12: Capstone Project (Independent research or product development).
  • Electives: Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing (NLP), AI Ethics & Policy, Robotics Engineering.

Department of Humanities

Cultivating critical thinkers and ethical leaders.

  • English: Classic Literature, Rhetoric & Composition, Sci-Fi & Speculative Fiction.
  • History: World Civilizations, US History, AP Government, Macro/Microeconomics.
  • Electives: Philosophy of Mind, Cognitive Science, Technical Writing.

Advanced Options

Advanced Placement (AP) & Honors  We offer AP courses. All "Core" subjects are available at the Honors level, which move at a faster pace and cover greater depth.

Dual Enrollment Through partnerships with local California universities (including UC and CSU campuses), qualified juniors and seniors may take college-level courses for transferable credit.
